Aigues Mortes

The ancient fortified town of Aigues-Mortes is a lively, worthwhile destination in southern France, on the coast in the Hérault department and the Languedoc-Roussillon region, surrounded by the Petit Camargue. A once-important port for the Crusades, the town is surrounded by massive walls with 6 towers and 10 doors, protecting citizens from the sea and invasions.
