Calling France from another country ? Here is how to dial
If the number you need is 01 23 45 67 89
Use your own international dial out code, which is generally 00 or you can also use the "+" sign and then add 33 for France, finally you remove the first zero if the number indicated above.
Which means you dial:

Regional numbers beginning with...
- 01 = Ile de France and Paris.
- 02 = North West : Pays de la Loire, Centre, Lower and Upper Normandy and Britanny.
- 03 = North East : Champagne-Ardenne, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, Picardie, Lorraine, Burgundy, Alsace and Franche-Comte.
- 04 = South East : Languedoc-Roussillon, Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, Auvergne, Rhone-Alpes and Corsica.
- 05 = South West : Midi-Pyrenees, Poitou-Charentes, Limousin and Aquitaine.
Special numbers beginning with...
06 and 07 are mobile telephone numbers (you may be charged extra when dialling these numbers).
08 telephone numbers which begin with 08 e.g. 0812345678 generally have special rates when you call them (often higher than the normal calling rate). Be careful when dialling these numbers.
09 numbers go over the Internet and reserved for Internet providers. Many people now have home numbers beginning with 09.
Whilst you are in France, it is possible to use a credit card in most of the telephone cabins. Finding a cabin which still accepts coins is very difficult and is being phased out very quickly.
